Petta vs Viswasam Box Office: Rajinikanth Starrer Crosses Rs 150 Crore Mark at The Global Market, Ajith's Film Does Wonders in Tamil Nadu
Film and trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared the figures of both the films on Twitter. While Viswasamearned over Rs 125 crore, Petta has crossed Rs 150 crore mark at the global box office. Talking about the international markets, Petta is said to be doing better than Viswasam since the very first day of its release.
Talking about the Tamil Nadu Box Office, buzz on social media says that Petta has collected Rs 75 crore and Ajith's Viswasam has grossed Rs 86 crore. In Chennai, Rajinikanth's Petta has already collected Rs 11 crore. Both Viswasam and Petta were released on Pongal and are winning hearts. Petta also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Sethupathy in pivotal roles. Petta impressed audience so much that one of Rajinikanth's fan actually decided to get married outside a theatre in Chennai to mark the release date of the film. The video of the couple performing their wedding rituals outside a Chennai theatre went viral on social media today, on January 10.
Viswasam, on the other hand, has spun its magic over Ajith fans and family audience as per trade analysts even though the critics panned the film for being overly dramatic and formulaic..
