Avengers: Endgame: Fan theory decodes why Thanos did not kill Captain America in Infinity War
Avengers: Endgame is the most awaited film to come out of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) franchise which will be the culmination of a decade-long journey. The die-hard fans can't wait to see how the remaining Avengers will try to undo the actions of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and whether things will get better or much worse. The trailer of Avengers: Endgame released last month and instantly the fan theories went berserk with possible outcomes. From Iron Man and Captain America's deaths to Captain Marvel saving the world, the possibilities are aplenty and we can't wait for the final result aka the endgame.
Speaking of the mighty Thanos, several questioned the deaths and the choosing of who turns to dust in Infinity War. Some were also left wondering why Thanos spared Captain America's life when he very well could have killed him during their classic altercation. That memorable scene saw Steve Rogers valiantly holding Thanos' hand as a form of defense and bravery. To see someone do this when even Thor and The Hulk failed miserably was a spectacle to watch.
[Infinity War] Captain America vs. Thanos from r/FanTheories
While we already know that Captain America is no match for Thanos, the Mad Titan found something interesting in Steve's determination. He was also a bit surprised by the strength of the Captain, almost like an adult playing with a kitten.
The main reason why Thanos spared Steve is that he had no intention of hurting him in the first place. As Captain America was not a part of his prerogative, Thanos left him alone. But keep in mind, he also did not care if Rogers survived or died during the snap.
