Venky Mama: Venkatesh, Naga Chaitanya's Telugu comedy to hit floors in February
Telugu film Venky Mama, starring Venkatesh, Naga Chaitanya and Shriya Saran in the lead roles, is all set to go on floors in February this year. The comedy film, to be directed by KS Ravindra, was earlier scheduled to begin shooting in October last year. However, due to issues in the script, the film got delayed. Producer Suresh Babu, reports claim, did not want to compromise on the content and therefore, asked for several changes in the story and narration.
Due to the prolonged delay, Ravindra, known for his films Power, Sardar Gabbar Singh and Jai Lava Kusa, also contemplated opting out of the project. But somehow, things worked out between him and Babu, and the project is very much on track now. Reports claim that the film will roll on February 21 in Hyderabad.
Rakul Preet, who had no Telugu release last year, has an important part in Venky Mama. The actress will join the cast right from the beginning of the shoot next month.
A source close to the development has been quoted in a report as saying, “The script has been locked and the team feels it’s necessary to begin shooting for the film from February, to wrap it in June and go ahead release with the release in the second half of the year. Venky Mama is a joint production venture between Suresh Productions and Blue Planet Entertainment.
